Business Abilities

Business Planning and Development

Each year an increasing number of persons with disabilities and chronic health issues are looking at self-employment as a viable career option. The Business Abilities website will give you the tools you need to research your business idea and prepare your business plan.

Internet Business Development for Entrepreneurs (IBDE)

Web Design Training

IBDE provides individuals facing challenges to employment--including persons living with a disability--the opportunity to enhance their skills in a self-paced and supported learning environment.

IBDE Web Essentials is a six-month, online, college accredited, web design program that gives students the opportunity to build a business website. We are now accepting applications for the IBDE Web Essentials program beginning in Fall 2010.

(Please note that CSSD strives to support all persons with disabilities, however due to the nature of our IBDE web design curriculum (only), some disability types cannot currently be accommodated but we are looking at ways to improve this.)

Virtual Mall Canada

IBDE Showcase

The VirtualMall.ca website is a showcase of websites designed by IBDE graduates (see above), who are selling products and services offered by Canadian businesses in their local communities. The Virtual Mall's role is to act as a web portal to the sites created by these students. Originally developed as a result of the IBDE program, VirtualMall.ca continues to grow and evolve. The sites are constantly changing and new products are arriving daily, so be sure to visit VirtualMall.ca often.
