Anne-Marie Edgar

Executive Director

Anne-Marie Edgar is the Executive Director for Make A Change Canada. Reporting to the Board of Directors, she is responsible for the overall management of our programs and the effective administration of the organization. Anne-Marie has been with Make A Change Canada since January 2007, with her prior role as Financial Manager for the organization. Anne-Marie's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master in Business Administration. With over 20 years' experience working with persons living with a disability, Anne-Marie has a strong understanding and regard for those facing certain challenges in life. Having worked previously as an instructional designer, as the owner-operator of a construction business, and as a management consultant, Anne-Marie brings specific and pertinent expertise to Make A Change Canada. While working in the IT field Anne-Marie developed online training, conducted training sessions, and managed courseware development teams. Clients included the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Transport Canada, BNR, TRW, Workers' Compensation Board of BC, and Sprint. Outside of work hours you will find Anne-Marie enjoying gardening and furthering her knowledge through reading, lifelong learning, and watching documentary films.

Doug Tardif

Team Leader – Bilingual (Mon-Thurs)

Doug has been working as a business coach in the nonprofit sector for eleven years, seven of which have been with Make A Change Canada. He has provided guidance to hundreds of clients in helping them achieve their goal of self-employment. Doug is highly skilled at one-on-one coaching, group facilitation, and delivering online webinars. With a consulting background in the financial, publishing, and manufacturing sectors, and through his work with foreign governments, Doug has wide-ranging business expertise. Some of the interesting projects Doug has led include project management of integrated business systems for a chain of Canadian newspapers and the development of protocols for online banking systems and ATMs. While living in the Carribean, Doug developed a strategic plan for tourism and financial systems for airlines, in addition to participating in several fraud investigations conducted with British, American, and Canadian agencies. As the International Y2K Consultant to the United Nations, Doug has travelled extensively delivering information seminars to several foreign governments. Throughout the years Doug has volunteered with various national agencies and service clubs spearheading a number of fundraising and educational initiatives. Doug currently enjoys focusing his energies on coaching aspiring entrepreneurs and on the creative arts. His production company, Eclectic Diversions Inc. (www.eclecticdiversionsinc.com), offers writing and screenplay services as well as on-camera training and casting services. Doug has appeared in a number of commercials and has performed on stage as well as on film.

Chantal Orr

Business Coach – (Mon-Thurs)

Chantal was born and raised in Nelson, BC, and currently lives in Calgary, Alberta. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Victoria with a specialization in International Business and is currently completing her Diploma in Public Relations. Her professional experience spans across many facets including mentorship, event management, marketing/social media, entrepreneurship, facilitation, and relationship building. Chantal has worked for a multinational company, co-founded an international NGO, co-chaired an international environmental summit, worked for a technology start-up, and as managing partner, helped found the successful sustainability and marketing consulting firm, Synergy (www.synergyenterprises.ca). Chantal has over five years’ experience in the field of business sustainability. She currently consults small and medium sized businesses on operations strategy from the sustainability perspective. She has also mentored dozens of students, helping them to formulate their career path and develop their business plans. Chantal has played varsity soccer both in Canada and abroad, and since has taken her athletic pursuits to the hot yoga room. Chantal is training for a half-marathon and enjoys nothing more than a hike with views.

Mary Alton

Service Coordinator

Mary lives in Kingston, Ontario, and has held the role of service coordinator for Make A Change Canada since March 2008.  With previous experience in the employment services field, in providing direct client care, and as a healthcare professional, Mary has had the opportunity to work alongside a diverse group of clientele.  She has a highly enthusiastic attitude and is an approachable, compassionate team member.  Mary strives to provide exceptional student services and administrative support for program participants.  Always offering a supportive environment for our clients as they strive for success in their personal and business endeavours, Mary enjoys her role immensely.  Strongly believing in the benefits that continuing education provides, Mary has completed college courses in Psychology, Pharmacology, Public Health, Ethics
in Counselling, and Small Business Management.  She also holds a Diploma in Massage Therapy and has recently completed additional certifications in Life Skills Coaching and E-Business Management.
  In her spare time, Mary can often be found reading a good book, working in the garden, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.

George Papazian


George Papazian is a New Media Creative and a specialist in the interplay of business, technology, and the arts. As an educator, he has either taught, developed curriculum, or played a role in developing the Digital Media programs of some of Canada’s top new media institutions at colleges and universities including Emily Carr University of Art and Design, the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and the Art Institute. George's students have gone on to win design awards, and work for companies such as Yahoo!, Electronic Arts (FIFA Project), Zynga, and Blast Radius.

On the business and development side, he is the Creative Lead and Project Lead of OptoMedia & Web Technologies, a Vancouver based online digital agency, where he leads a compact, talented team in simultaneous web projects and online campaigns.

Jill Boland


A leader in the technology sector, Jill has taught multimedia courses for Selkirk College, and has an extensive portfolio of website designs for prestigious organizations. Jill has a passion for knowledge sharing, troubleshooting, and social media marketing. To Jill, “Teaching technology and working with people is not only my everyday job, it’s my passion.”

Easwari Thoreraj


Easwari has 15 years of computer industry experience in various technical and management capacities, which includes five years in the e-commerce field. In her previous roles, Easwari successfully programmed, launched, and managed the websites of more than 20 different clients. Her special expertise and interests are in the Linux operating system and systems administration. Easwari holds an M.Sc. in Software Engineering and specializes in PHP programming, among other things.
